Additional information - Same issue (JIM closed/crashed) when I click "Setting" or "Sign Up" in the Login window.
Can you try downloading the latest version of Justinmind here and see if this issue still occurs? This will help us determine if the issue is related to the application, or to something else, like a network problem.
Latest version works find.
Ok, thanks for the info.
Is using the newer version an option for you, since it works?
We have the perpetual license for v7.7.0. I can only use the trial version for the latest version. Thanks.
It looks like maintenance expired 666 days ago, which means you can use version 7.8.0. Contact us for a download link. Please let me know if the problem still occurs for that version.
I downloaded version 7.8.0 per your advice and the problem still occurs. When I click "Sign In" or "Setting" in the login screen Justinmind closes down with no error message. The attached Mac problem report then pops up.
Thanks for the update. Can you try attaching your log files here? They should reveal the source of the crash. You can find them by going to:
On Mac: [folder of the user]/justinmind/version/logs.log
On PC: C://users/youruser/Justinmind[version]/logs.log
Please attach both logs.log and logs.log.1
There is no "logs.log.1" in the folder. Please find logs.log attached fyr. Thanks!
The issue is with an animation on the sign in page that's not compatible with newer version of MacOS. Here's a workaround we can try:
1) Before launching JIM, disable your Internet connection.
2) Launch JIM and attempt to sign in. You'll see a dialog that there's no internet connection, and it'll prompt you to sign in via browser.
3) Enable your Internet connection again and click on the button to sign in via browser.
4) Download and open the license file, which should activate Justinmind
Please let me know how this works for you.
After I complete Step 4) the Login window pops up again and prompt me to enter my username and password. After I click "Sign In"JIM closes same as before.
Please email the .lic file that you was downloaded. You can email it to me.
Ok, we’re going to try another workaround:
1) Copy files from: “C:\Users\USER_NAME\Justinmind\8.7.0\user_info.xml”
2) Copy files from: “C:\Users\USER_NAME\Justinmind\8.7.0\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.runtime\.settings\com.justinmind.evc.prefs”
Lastly, once the application is opened, go to ‘Preferences’->’User interface’ and deactivate ‘Create new events with progressive disclosure’. Otherwise the application will also crash when using the events dialog.
On Step 1 - When I run the *.vp file I did not get 'activation successful' message. Instead the "Your free trial has expired." window pops up with the "Sign In" window in the background.
I completed Step 2 and Step 3.1.
On Step 3.2 - There is no .\metadata folder in \Users\USER_NAME\Justinmind\8.7.0\ and \Users\USER_NAME\Justinmind\7.8.0\
Any updates on this one? Thanks!
