Constant crashing on macOS Monterey Apple M1 Max

Known Karl 2 years ago

Justinmind 9.5.5 crashes constantly (e.g. multiple times in an hour) under macOS Monterey on a 2021 MacBook Pro with the M1 Max chip. There does not seem to a pattern: it sometimes crashes immediately on start up, other times while making edits and sometimes while working with a local simulation in the browser.

It's too large to attach to the forum. Should I open a support ticket?

Hi Karl, Does it crash only when you use teamwork or if it also happens when you are not editing a shared prototype? Can I ask you to send the other log file (logs.log.1)?

Thanks

Greetings.

It crashes under all circumstances, even when no prototype is open. For example, I just launched it and it showed the welcome window but crashed before I could even click anything.

I don't see a file named logs.logs.1, but I have attached the logs file from just now

Files: logs.log

Hello Karl, we need you to send us some additional logs.

You have to go to the Applications folder. Then in Justinmind.app right click and hit "Show Package Contents". The file is inside the "Contents / Java" folders and its name has the format: "hs_err_pid [random number] .log".

Also, if you have a "[random number] .log" file in the "Contents / Java / Configuration" folder.

Thank you

Greetings.

Ria

I have attached a zip with the hs_err_pidxxxx.log files. There was no log file in the configuration folder.

Mine is crashing as well, on a recently created project - nothing created yet, just user flows. Do you guys know what may be happening? Apple M1 Pro 16' on Monterey 12.0.1

edit: i've just uploaded a crash file the Mac generated. Also, it seems like whenever I change the focus from the app it crashes, like with an alt+tab or even just by clicking in another app in the dock. Very strange. I can't forget to save whenever i'm changing apps now. You should remember that too Karl.

I've also used this version all day without a single crash. Thank you for staying on this and getting us a fix. Will this test version automatically update when this fix is incorporated into a release version?

LOGS --------------

You can find them by following this file path:

On Mac: [folder of the user] /justinmind/version/logs.log

On PC: (C: // users / youruser / Justinmind [version] /logs.log)

There may also be a file called logs.log. 1 in that folder. If it's also listed, please attach it as well.
