Dark mode and issues with fading transition

I have created 2 screens with a black background. The first screen fades to the second screen and 700ms with a FADE transition.
I have noticed that even though everything is black from a background point of view, during the transition, the background is white.
This isn't ideal. I am trying to create a dark version of my app design and the white during a transition between 2 black screens spoils the whole effect.
I have even tried to add a black rectangle to cover the whole screen and it is exactly the same.
I have attached an example.
Please don't say it is by design. This really needs to be fixed. This issue means you can't really have a pure Dark mode.

Thanks for sending this to us. We know this isn't ideal - we're hoping to fix this sometime soon, but unfortunately I don't have a set date for that.

We can try to come up with a workaround for this - how would the fade look ideally? Would there be any color, or would the screens fade into each other?

All I would like to do is a simple a fade between screens with a dark background. The longer the fade in milliseconds the longer the white background is displayed.

I want to maintain the dark mode as much as possible.

What do you think about the attached workaround? It uses a black rectangle that hides On Page Load with a fade effect.
