Hide/Show all items in a group at once.
I've created a group. I now want to hide/show all of the items in the group by selecting just the group name (top level of the hierarchy). However, this isn't working. Do I have to hide/show each item within the group individually? What am I doing wrong?

You should include the items inside a dynamic panel. Then you will be able to create a hide event. Kindly let me know how it goes.
