values for date input field wired to data master date field is not showing up on the phone

Answered np 7 years ago

Hi,

In my datagrid cell, I am binding a date type input element to the date type field form the data master.

Upon simulation with JIM I see the values being populated.

But on my android phone within the JIM app, date fields are not showing up except ............ and a small down arrow icon.

Is there a bug on the server side that is causing issue while rendering .vp files within JIM app on my Android mobile phone? Please note I also tried to add a new date field and bound to same and another date field from the data master. The results are same.

Will you please find if there is any issue on the JIM's server side code? Or any other issue?

Thanks,

np

Besides - exported HTML in browser does work fine showing the data field.

This is definitely a bug on the server side to render date type field on Android phone.

Hi, Community and the support team,

Any help?

I am in an evaluation time, and it is really frustrating when you spend so much time in getting answers for things that should logically work as designed ... I have spent hours and hours in dealing with datamaster and the loading the data from the csv files for each data field types. And, it has been really painful.

I am still not successful in addressing issue in this ticket, also not able to load category and multiple category fields from the csv file. The JIM app on mobile doesn't function the same way as the JIM prototype renders the content in the simulator and in the browser.

The trial period pushes you to use your time effectively to get to know the product.

But when there are so many bugs and delays in responding from support team, I wonder how does one decide on signing up for the paid account.

Has anyone experience similar things?

Thanks,

np

Hi there,

Can you attach the .CSV you're working with here? Any info or files you can provide will be very helpful for identifying the issue and working to resolve it.

We understand your frustration - you're right that there can be a delay between queries on the community forum and our response. This is largely due to prioritizing customer questions in our Customer Support Portal - which will typically receive a response from us within a few hours. Please note that if you do decide to purchase a license, you will receive priority support.

Best,

Hi Danielle, thank you for your response. I am attaching a .csv files and the screenshot of the simulated prototype. I am not able to upload .vp file here. How do I share that with you?

.vp file has only one default screen having a datagrid bound to the data master. The test data master has fields of various types. There are two dates fields one editable and another is non-editable. In the simulation it shows both dates but doesn't provide the option of changing the date in the simulation mode. On the phone it never shows the data loaded in from the data master, but it shows ......... with down arrow to click for calendar wizard.

Also, category and muticatgory fields don't populate the data in the dropdown (Select List) widget.

Your help will be appreciated. Thanks, np

Apologies for the delay - we just need a little more info so we can test this. Can you actually attach the .vp file itself? We want to make sure we're testing the exact situation you're describing.

Hi Danielle, please unzip the attached zip file that contains the .vp file.

It has only one screen that you will be able to use for testing using the .csv files attached above.

Also, as I mentioned above, I am not able to upload .vp file via MS Edge browser.

In Chrome, my logon credentials for account don't work when tried to access community support portal (which is not the issue in the MS Edge). Is this a known bug as well?

Thanks,

np

Hi there,

Please see the attached prototype with the Category and Multicategory fields associated to the DataMaster.

The main problem is that the categories (options) were not introduced at the DataMaster (explained how to do it in this video https://www.dropbox.com/s/russgrgkkrcykys/TestCategories.rar?dl=0) and also the "Selection Components" where not associated correctly with the DataMasters. (Capture Attached)

Hope this helps.

Hi @SoniaDuran,

Thank you for your response. I will review that today and update my knowledge accordingly.

Do you have any input on the Date related issue as outlined in the description of this topic?

Thanks,

np

Hi @DanielleSchnider, @SoniaDuaran,

Do you have any input for me on the Date field type related issue outlined in the description of the topic?

Dear @np,

Could you provide me with a little more detail on this? Am I correct assuming that the issue is that when simulating on Android the Date Widget does not display the date included inside the DataMaster? Which device are you using?

Hi @SoniaDuran, yes the problem with the date field is as you spelled out above.

In the readmode (non editable) I am expecting the date field to show the date value.

I am using android devices made by Oneplus, Samsung and Lenovo. All have these issues.

Also - as I mentioned above by @DanielleSchneider, will you please extend my trial period by another 30 days? I have lost almost 2 weeks in resolving this, and that slowed me down on trying other things. I will really appreciate your help.

Thanks,

np

Dear @np,

After some tests, we have detected that the behaviour you are experiencing it's a bug and it has already been uploaded to our backlog. Thank you for taking the time to report this and sorry for any inconvenience.

PS: For a trial extension you should write here.

As offered by @DanielleSchneider, I would appreciate if you facilitate my trial extension with the sales team.

Hi @DanielleSchnider, @SoniaDuaran,

Were you able to find fix to this problem? I'm having the very same problem with displaying date fields when simulating on an iPhone. It's working just fine when simulating on the computer...

Best wishes,

Unfortunately no, this has not been fixed yet.

Hi @DanielleSchneider,

I'm sorry to hear that. It seems to be about a year ago that you registered the bug and it must be a quite common issue for anyone prototyping any kind of app that uses dates.

For anyone with the same issue, I found a workaround: Add a text-element to the grid cell and add an "on page load" event with set value to it. Choose calculate value and use a select statement with Grid_cell_1 in the first circle and the data master attribute in the second.

I have exactly the same problem: dates are OK in simulation mode but non visualize on real Android device (only a microscopic down pointing arrow displayed)
