Show/Hide Master Content using Click Button on Screen

Answered Sandra 5 years ago

Is a Master supposed to behave the same why as other Widgets?

In a Screen, I am able to add Widgets, and show/hide them by adding a Show Event to a click button. When I move the same Widgets to a Master, then add the Master to my Screen, and add the Master to the button's click event, clicking the button does not show the Master. I tried grouping and selecting the Master as a group, and ungrouping and selecting the Widgets of the Master separately.

Is there a way to make the Master function together as a single Widget?

Yes, it still works. Note that I have the entire master item selected for the event, not just the elements within the master.

You should be able to show/hide master content using events. I've attached a simple example of how it would work. Do you have an example prototype you can attach so we can see why it might not be working in your case? You can compress it to .rar/.zip format to attach it here.

Danielle,

Thanks for this example. I tested it and it worked great. Then, I added a textbox widget to the master and tried it again and it didn't work. If you add a text box to the master, does it still work for you?

Thanks,

Sandra

Thanks so much for this. I had put a rectangular boarder on my master and I was picking it thinking I was picking the master. When I opened the Outline window, I saw that the rectangle was selected, not the Master. Thanks Again!
