http calls in the back?

Hi,

i am quite new here and found no answer with google & co.

Is it possible to have a http/s call in the back without anything happen in the front to controll APIs for external devices? My scenario is very simple. I try to have a mockup and would like control external LEDs via http call like "/led/on/:id ..."
