Data Master Field Types

When creating a field in a Data Master I want to set it up as a category with a drop down. When I drag it out for a from this is great as it is a drop down/select which I want. However, when I add a Data List table for the view, the field shows up in the table as a drop down/select, which I don't want. When viewing all the records, all data should just be plain text fields. Is there a way to do this?

We're not sure why this was marked 'solved', but here's how to do this:

Then go to view and edit the records of the data master and select a value for each record from the dropdowns.
