Unfortunately, this widget works with autosize text so only can be resized when adapted to a longer text. You can change its background and fonts, but not directly resize each item.

would like to see an update to this, first time downloading it, love the first five minuts and I go to add width to my menu items and its locked..... hope the rest of the app is not similar.

As mentioned above, this widget works with an autosize text so only can be resized when adapted to a longer text. However, you can create your own custom menu by following this steps:
1.Draw a dynamic panel (that would be the submenu) and then draw all the links in it.
2.Mark the panel as hidden using the properties panel.
3.Add an "on mouse enter" event to the menu item so that it shows the dynamic panel.
4.Add an "On mouse leave" event on the dynamic panel that makes it hide again.
