This thread is an embarrassment to the Justinmind company. You can't make your techsupport use a community thread to perform account maintenance... especially for something that should be a user function, which it is in other products.
I am a more-than-loyal paying customer, I am a vigorous proponent of the product constantly trying to tell my Ax...-using coworkers that they waste time every day using that product. But when Jim forces me to waste time I must say so.
Jim, like all companies, has a right to make an extremely-hard-to-find token that prevents theft. But many of these lockouts, I suspect, are, like mine, from computer upgrades and replacements. I am converting to Mac. I have a Jim file that has a failure on my Mac. So I try to look at my old PC instance [I kept the machine for exactly this reason] to see the difference... and like all of you I hit the "max logins maze." (Allow 1-12 lost work hours to go through the maze.) But since I've been fighting with 1's and 0's since 1985, I've done the dance 30(?) times? I had to go back to my old Mac and log out there. I was lucky I still had that one too. Then I found out that my PC wouldn't even load the file in question (so I can't say for 100% certainty that the max logins was my exact problem).
Bottom line, Bellis's Law (1997): For every computer problem, even many hardware problems, there is a simple solution to the user interface..." In this case it's a function to kill one or all old sessions. I looked for it in preferences, help, and Usernote but couldn't find it. If you want to charge 1980's-boxed-executable prices, with annual support, and have an audience that uses it in mission-critical fashion, albeit within their narrow role, then act accordingly. And please don't give me any weasel worded, formulaic response. I'd use Microsoft's product if I wanted that. Just add it.
