How To Add Navigation Buttons With Dropdown Menus

Answered Victor Conesa 7 years ago

Hi. I'm trying the Prototyper and I am having trouble creating navigation buttons that have dropdown menus.

I'm also wondering if there is a way to group elements together into one.

Finally, how do you make a top banner cover the entire width of the screen?

Yeah, I'm really new at this, in case you were wondering.

Hi Odii,

You will need to create an "On Mouse Enter" event that will show the dynamic panel with the submenu. Also if you want to hide the menu you will need to add an "On click" / "Hide" event. See the example attached, I hope it helps.

Thank you Sonia.

Your answers were very helpful.

About the first question, I'm sorry I can't provide a screenshot but I can try to explain better what I mean.

On this screen where we are having this conversation, there are three buttons on the top bar. 'Justinmind' is the button on the left end, 'Odii Ariwodo' is one of the two on the right and 'Sign Out' is the last one on the right as well. When you move the mouse over Odii Ariwodo there is list of options that shows and you can click on anyone. That is something like what I want to create in the top bar. How do I do it? I can create buttons and put them on that bar but I can't seem to find a way to make them produce dropdown menus that a user can select options from.

Does that help any better?

Thank you, Sonia. I'm not sure where to find these events though. They don't appear on the menu when I right-click.

But I found an alternative. I saw that I could create what I want with the Menu widget but now I have a new challenge. I can't resize the individual cells of the menu in the Properties tab. Can you help me with that?

Hi Oddii,

You can't individually, only if you select the whole menu.
