Hide elements by default

Answered Victor Conesa 10 years ago

Is there a way to hide elements by default on screen load?

I have a box that should only appear on hovering over a certain elementy. If I hide the box by clicking the eye-symbol in the outline editor and aswell disable "show components marked as hidden" it's still shown when simulating the prototype.

If I hide the box with a page load event it flickers when starting the prototype.

Is there another way?

To hide an element by default, select it on the Canvas or in the Outline palette, then look to the Properties palette and tick 'hide component'.

You have to push the eye in the Properties panel, not in the Outline view.

Ah, I couldn't see that icon when I hid the element in the outline properites. Thanks, now it's working!

Nice. I missed that as well. I "solved" that by creating a blank rectangle and hiding that to reveal the div I wanted.

It's a poor kludge because when you have several actions layered over each other this technique doesn't work well.
