How can you export created custom requirements into docx-file?

Need Answer Mel 3 years ago

Hi there,

I customized the requirements field in JIM and added a few needed fields. Afterwards I changed the XML-schemata found in "hierachy" to include the new fields. These were then mapped to a docx-template to be used for requirement extraction.

In the resulting document the added fields result in blanks and I am unclear where to search for the problem. Can you please advise?

Hi Mel,

I'm afraid is not possible at the moment but it will in the next version 9. We plan to launch that mid September.

Okay, already testing the beta for version 9 but the function for exporting is not yet working. Then I am crossing my fingers for everything to work in two weeks. Thanks for the answer Victor, and looking forward to the next release

Yes, it's not in the latest update but it's already implemented for the final release. If we have a temporal version sooner, I can send it to you to verify it works.

That would be awesome, thanks again :)

Just another regarding this: will this also make it possible to extract not only the most recent version of a requirement, but also something more like a comparison for the version history? e.g. extracting various versions of a field where anything that has changed between versions?

I'm afraid it will only allow to extract the information of the latest version of a requirement.

Hi Victor, any news on that. There was no update yet, is that correct?

Hi Mel. We launched the final release today and the custom fields now should be generated. You can download the latest version here https://www.justinmind.com/download
