Can't change masters resolution to a custom one

How do I change the resolution of a master to a custom one? I am not able to change the resolution of a master to a custom one, such as 1440x1440. I am given options to change the devices but not resolution as you can while creating a new screen.
Unfortunately you won't be able to edit the master background size. However, the background size of a Master is only a reference, and when you drag the Master onto a screen, all the components of the Master will be added.
