How to modify text font and size of a table?

When I create a table, how can I modify the text font/size etc of all text in the table?
Table properties doesn't seem to have any text controls; I cannot see a way to select all cells at once: only select a row or column.

Select all of the cells by clicking on the first one, and then Shift-clicking on the last one in the table in the Properties palette. You'll then be able to change the text properties of the table.
