Drag and Drop not working

In Progress Mel Salas 6 years ago

I just downloaded the trial version. Version (Ver. 8.1.0)

I was trying to do the drag and drop tutorial (https://www.justinmind.com/support/how-to-simulate-a-drag-and-drop-in-your-interactive-wireframes/)

But dragging doesnt seem to affect the rectangle.

I even dowloaded the example file from the tutorial is case I was doing something wrong. But same result. Dragging does nothing.

Here is a video of the problem

If you are having problems with drag and drop, please list:

1. The browser you are using to simulate

2. Your operating system

3. If you are using a touchscreen interface on your computer

Then, attach a screen recording of the problem. This should help us identify the issue.

Dear Mel,

The video does not show the mouse cursor. Are you using a touch device? Are you clicking each rectangle individually? Which device and browser are you using?

Is not a touch device. Is a laptop running windows 10.

Is the window that appears when I click Simulate, not a browser. But I normally use chrome.

Also yes, im trying to drag one at the time.

Dear Mel,

Can you try using a different browser? (File / Preferences / Default browser. )

Kindly let me know how it goes.

Ok, by default it was empty. https://www.screencast.com/t/Pri4ESlSeKwF

I configure chrome using the chrome extension steps. I was able to run it, but dragging was still not working.

I tried Internet explorer and worked just fine.

Then I tried Microsoft Edge and the simulation didn't even launched.

I'll try downloading on another computer to check if it is something with mine.

I'll let you know.

I really would like to run the simulations in chrome, since is the most used browser.

Dear Ramil,

To change the default browser of Prototyper you should go to Preferences / General / Default Browser / Browse / Select the new browser. (Do not leave the field empty) Also, regarding to Edge, we only support the last version (the one that includes Creators Update). Kindly let me know how it goes.

Dear Bernhard,

Unfortunately I can't reproduce this issue. I've tried Firefox and Chrome and it works. What kind of device are you using? Has any special feature? For further investigation, can you try using a different device and see how it works?

Hello Danielle,

1. Chrome version 71.0.3578.98 (but be aware it works fine in the final version of IE11, but ew)

2. Windows 10 Pro - completely up to date

3. The computer has a touch screen, but I'm using external monitors for this (the touch screen is off)

I don't think you need a new screen recording, it's the same experience as the original issue video.

This is an issue with touch screens, drag and drop, and Chrome that we're working on fixing. In the meantime, you can follow these steps and deactivate touch functionality to have D&D working in Chrome:

in case anyone else runs into this: I have the same issue with the built-in simulation browser; switching to Firefox solves the problem on Windows 10.
