ALL events on ALL objects do not work in a Dynamic Panel

In Progress Alfred Fazio 6 years ago

Create a Dynamic Panel with two panels. In the second panel, place any object (for example, a button). Place any event on the button (for example, "on click, link to <screen>"). The event does not work in simulation mode. I can provide a sample file to demonstrate this.

Hmm, this was immediately tagged as a "Known" problem, but I do not see this problem posted anywhere.

Hi Alfred,

I wasn't able to reproduce the issue you've reported. Can you attach the sample file you mentioned? You can attach it in .rar format, or upload it to a file sharing service such as Dropbox and attach the link to it here.

Also - problems are automatically tagged as 'known' when they are submitted.

Hey Danielle, thank you for the response! You can check out the .vp file on Dropbox at https://www.dropbox.com/s/48nrqm91wntmbfv/PhySH%20Portal.vp?dl=0

There is only one dynamic panel in the file and it has two panels. Any events I attach to objects in that second panel won't work in the simulation. Thank you very much for checking this out!

Hi Alfred,

The issue is with the transparent rectangle (Rectangle_6) on top of the dynamic panels - it's blocking the click, and so the event is not able to be triggered. Unfortunately you'll need to find another way to accomplish your menu - perhaps you could use another dynamic panel instead of a rectangle, and then have the 'on mouse over' event set the other panels as active.

Danielle

Ahhhh, I see. Thank you so much Danielle for looking into this. That makes sense and I'll keep this in mind! Very much appreciated.
