Aspect ratio lock ("chain" icon next to Width/Height) acts like a global setting, instead of being unique to each component.
If I recall correctly, it used to be possible to turn on aspect ratio locking for each component (for example, an image that I don't want to distort, but not for a textarea that I want to be able to resize in one dimension or the other). As of 7.0.0, that is no longer the case:
Avatar with aspect ratio locked: good!
Text label with aspect ratio unexpectedly locked because I turned it on for the avatar: not good!
