Email Validation Issue on Form Submit

I am a newbie and am trying to figure out the email validation condition.

What I am trying to do is check that the input field contains a valid email address on hitting submit. I tried reading the help and watched the videos, but am a bit stuck on what the @ Expression means and how to use it.
