Update a datagrid already on display

Hi

I've followed the tutorial at http://www.justinmind.com/tutorials/a... but I can't get my datagrid to update.

I have the datagrid and the input form both visible on the same page. I have two questions:

1. Are records persistent? i.e. should I see them when I exit from the simulation and go into Data Master?

2. Will the NEW action cause existing datagrids to be updated with the new row/record, or do I need to switch to another page?

I have got it working by having the NEW action followed by a link to the same page.

The problem I have now is that the datagrid is in a Dynamic Panel, so I can't popup the dynamic panel to show the updated datagrid after the Link action.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Russell

1. The records are not persistent. They are always reseted to the records in the data master each time you push the simulation button.

2. Yes, you need an additional event action. Next to the 'New action' add another action. The action should be a set value, then select the data grid (in this case is better to use the little outline in the right because you have to select the entire data grid) and in the value push the calculated value (calculator icon), then click on the data masters tab inside the expression builder and drag the data master to the white place. Then push ok and push ok again. This will reset the values after you create a new one. This set value action is 'similar' to the one used to simulate a search in this video http://www.justinmind.com/tutorials/a...

Thanks, The key is the 'Set Value' on the Datagrid, and I just needed to drag the DataMaster to the empty box. Job Done! :-)
