The installer crashes badly

Hey guys. I would like to trial Justinmind as it looks like a potential replacement of Axure, which we are using at the minute. Unfortunately, the installer of the demo version crashes and I cannot install it... Is there any trick that I should perform to make it work? It crashes when I am installing it as an administrator on Windows 7 32bit. The point of crash is always at the creation of 'Output folder: C:Program FilesJustinmindJustinmind Prototyper 4.3.0plugins'. After killing the crashed installer process, I can see all the files copied to the new directory but, when I want to execute JustinmindPrototyper.exe, all I am getting is an error message 'The JustinmindPrototyper executable launcher was unable to locate its companion shared library'. Removing the directory and reinstalling it again doesn't help. Please advise! Thanks :) ece47abb33fccc99616b18c7b584937d

Hello Wojtek,


It appears that the installer hanged while uncompressing some files. We have recently noticed that some antivirus like ‘Symantec’ or ‘PC Tools’ block that process and the installer cannot finish properly. Could you please tell us if you are using any of these applications or any other antivirus software?

Hey dude


I am, in fact, using ESET Antivirus. I will try disabling it for a couple of minutes... ;) I will give you a shout how it goes! Cheers, Wojtek

I am having the exact same problem. I have Win 7 Prof 32-bit and I have Kaspersky Antivirus 2010 installed. Should I email Jim for the uncompressed installer? Any help from you would be appreciated!

Yes, if you're unable to install the application even disabling Kaspersky I would recommend you to try the uncompress installer we'll send to you. It should work for this case.

It actually didn't for me. Something is definitely wrong with Windows 32bit (well, a novelty, ha ha :) and Justinmind. A pity, though, as it's really hard to put any trust into the product which I cannot even trial properly...

I have the same problem - would it be possible to get the uncompress installer you mentioned sent to me as well? I would really like to try this product, as my company is considering purchasing a few licenses.

Having the same/similar issues, however I have downloaded the latest version, and tried previous issue solutions and still no joy in getting the trial installed - so as this is the most recent install issue created, seemed a good place.


ive tried the following


1. 4.4.1 hangs on the plugins install - un-installed (deleted files/folder) and reinstalled numerous times no joy


2. installed 4.3 - installed but then on load i get 'failed to start java virtual machine'


3. went back to a 4.2 install same issue


4. also all the uncompressed installer versions have the same issue as 2 & 3


Java info:


java version "1.6.0_21"


Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_21-b06)


Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 17.0-b16, mixed mode, sharing)


Laptops used by my collegues:


Windows XP 32Bit SP3 - i have admin rights


*** have no problem on my mac and works great

Then there is some application of yours blocking one of the steps of the installer, probably an antivirus or a firewall of some kind.

Certainly there isn't and I've discussed it with an employee of yours three months ago.


Even now, I can't really test the product as it is asking me for the licence file which I clearly don't have - as I wanted to test the trial!


Could you please tell me how to reset the licence so I can trial it finally now, when it works?


I have uninstalled it and installed again but there is no difference, it still asks for the licence...
