Switch device simulation mid-prototype?

How can I switch device simulation (and visual shell) mid-prototype? For example, a user is accessing a desktop prototype via Usernote link and then selects a button that switches to a tablet version of the page (shown within the tablet simulation) and then selects a button that switches to a phone version of the page (shown within the smartphone simulation).

Hello Vasken,

Each prototyper has its own template (desktop, iPhone, Android, etc). In order to simulate the switching of devices, I would link each prototyper's usernote link from each device. This opens up a new page or new tab each time the link is clicked because each device's prototyper is unique per device.

Let me know if I need to clarify anything.

I did figure out that I can copy the specific link of a published prototype (even a specific page within a prototype) and create an external link to that. So whichever page I'm on and whichever platform, I can cross-navigate to the same page on a different platform/simulator simply by linking externally to that unique URL. Can you think of any better method than this?

Vasken,

Linking to a different prototyper file is the best way because each prototyper is designed to emulate only one device at a time.

Thanks for the timely reply! Considering that we've entered the cross-platform, responsive era, whichever prototyping tool best supports platform switching from within a prototype will have a competitive advantage.
