Why do items move from where they were placed when grouping?

Why do items within a group have their own unique x, y value from everything else on the canvas?

They shouldn't move, could you tell me the case please?

They have a relative x,y. You can switch between relative/absolute coordinates by clicking the icon next to the x,y coordinates in properties.

I did 4 screenshots to show you the sequence. On the 2 titled x_y_after and item please look at the difference in the x,y coordinates. Why did these items take on a set of coordinates that are unique to the group?

Because the x,y coordinates are relative to the parent container by default so in this case the group is the parent container. If you want to have the absolute coordinates push the icon at the left of the x,y 7f19bf98794442b8348ebb4ba5d3722e
