Idea: Inserting a column in a data grid

It would be good to be able to insert columns in the middle of a data grid instead of always appending it to the end of a data grid.

I've encountered numerous times, where I wanted to add a column in the middle of a data grid and cannot. Instead I would have to add a column to the end of the data grid and tediously move each column content to the right, just to so I can free up a column in the middle.

This would increase my efficiency enormously.

Ok. But remember that you can also move the columns by drag and drop.

I've just tried doing that. It's not possible to do so. I can only drag and drop the labels in the columns.

I tried selecting the column and dragging it. No luck.

Maybe you can show me / tell me how?

Move the mouse pointer just above the column header until it turns into a down arrow. Then click+drag the column.

It work's! Thank you for the hint! I had the same problem as Anton and did not know the drag and drop possibility at data grids.

But it would be nice to have the possibility to insert new columns in the mid.

OK. I confirm that it works.

Usability-wise, it should show only left and right arrows. This would make it clearer what you can actually do with it. Having up and down arrows doesn't make sense in the context.
