How to build a database of user generated data?

I have a two part question.

My app involves translation. The user will be reading text. When they cannot understand a word they can click on it and the meaning in Japanese will be displayed in a separate textbox. I have done that. It is no problem.

Next I want the user, when they want, to be able to choose to save the word in a database for later study. I want a button that on click will save the word displayed in the textbox.

1. Is it possible to have these words compiled in a single data master as a user goes from screen to screen selecting words?

2. If it is possible what is the interaction I need to use? Is it Data Master Action, new or modify? I have tried these but with no success so far.

The instructions in the online help gave a pretty good description

Justinmind Prototyper Help > Creating Prototypes > Data Simulation

Basically you decide what item is going to start the interaction. Then select Data Master Action - New.

My situation was quite simple because I only have one data field.

One of the problems I had was that to test it I had set a temporary data grid on the same screen. However during simulation the data wasn't being displayed in the temporary data grid. I found though, that if I left that screen and returned then the data was displayed. Not exactly sure why. But it isn't an issue for my prototype because the data compiled in the data master is being displayed on a different screen.

One other thing is that the data will not be stored after you stop a simulation. I haven't yet exported to HTML to see if this is the case once it is used outside of Usernote.
