How do I put things into dynamic panels?

I've created a set of dynamic panels, but I can't figure out how to get stuff actually into them. No matter what I do, either getting new widgets from the Components panel or dragging/pasting existing widgets, the widgets end up on top of the dynamic panel, as siblings of the panel-set, rather than as children of a specific panel. Moving things around in the Outline view also doesn't seem to have any way to get stuff to be a child of a panel.

What's the trick??? Thanx!

Panels have two states: open or closed. To open a panel you can right click on it and select 'Edit content' or double-click on it. Take a look at this video tutorial for further help : http://www.justinmind.com/prototyper/...

Thanks, that worked. Yay!

Some feedback on this:

- First, why does the panel need an editing mode? Can't the "locked" mechanism do whatever that's needed for?

- Secondly, why doesn't a new panel start out in editing mode? That's the most likely thing I'm going to do with it after creating it.

- Third, please add a clue about this to the Tutorial and User Guide documents.

Thanks!

The 'locked' option just locks position and size, not content. Thanks for the other two suggestions, we'll keep them in mind.

Yeah, I had the same issue. Have been watching several tutorials and following step by step, but for the life of me I couldn't get widgets "inside" the dynamic panel. This little detail isn't documented.

Thankfully, this search works well enough I was able to find it, but I could have saved a couple of hours of work had I known the panel needed to be in edit mode.

Agreed this should be the default anyway.

Thanks for your feedback Denise, we will try to make it more clear in the tutorials.
