Hi there, just wondering how I create a side navigation menu that slides in, usually from a button on the top left of a smartphone screen?

I think this question was answered previously with some examples posted through links which are now dead.

Any assistance is appreciated.

The easiest way is to have an screen with the side menu. Then, when you want to display the menu, you just need to link to that screen with a slide right transition effect.

Thanks Victor.

How would I make it recognise that when the same button is tapped the second time it has the slide left transition effect?

Use a link to -> Previous screen event

Cool.

So how do I make it not transition to the Side Menu - 100%? but leaves a gap? Just like how side menus typically work?

Depends on how realistic you want it. Most people put some piece of content of a screen in the screen with the menu just to give the user the idea.

I see. Is there a way or an example that I can follow to make it realistic, i.e. behave as it does in a real-life app?

Maybe... take a look at this one:

Hi Victor,

Cool. Sort of what I was looking for.

For example 'one way to do it' - how do you get the 'this is a menu' and 'iPhone UI' elements to snap dynamically the way they do?

I used the 'Layout' property of the dynamic panels. Take a look at this two links for further information:
