Fields sometimes "drop off" Data Grid

Solved

When I work within a Data Grid that has cells set to "Free Layout", when I move fields around (particularly from cell-to-cell), data fields sometimes drop off the Data Grid so they display as text field outside the Data Grid. The field is within the borders of the Data Grid, but Justinmind treats it as if it outside.

When this happens it is very difficult to move the field back into the Data Grid. I can imagine that users might want to display data fields outside a Data Grid, but it should not happen accidentally. There should be a clear visual display as to whether a field is inside or outside a Data Grid and users should be able to easily change it.

I assume this is a bug.

I think this happens with the dynamic panels too. To place something inside a cell or a dynamic panel you have to drag it above the cell/panel. If you move it with the arrow keys it remains outside. If you drag it above the cell the item will be inserted.

Sorry, maybe I was unclear. I don't mean when user drags an item onto a Data Grid. I mean Data Master fields that were chosen using the "New Data Grid" dialog display incorrectly. In some cases, when I move them from one cell to another, when I view them in simulation, they display as:

[Animal.Cat] (Row 1)

nothing in Row 2

nothing in Row 3

nothing in Row 4

They should display as:

Lion (Row 1)

Tiger (Row 2)

Leopard (Row 3)

Jaguar (Row 4)

Does that make sense?

Mmm I'm sorry but I think I don't fully understand what you mean. Maybe some screenshots would help me.

I'll see if I can recreate it...

It was something like this:

I accidentally dragged the field off the Data Grid and then had a difficult time putting it back because it was on a different layer. Not sure if this is a bug or working as designed.

I think is the same usability issue like in the dynamic panels.
