Dynamic Panels and Events

Can you please help me.

I have 4 dynamic panels that are grouped and divided into 2 panels A and B, to behave like buttons, On and Off.

How do I set it so that when I turn A and B on, only then, it takes me to another page.

A and B are already linked to each other as well, as I have already added events that make them vibrate. If I turn on A, B will vibrate; I want to click on B to take me to another page, but only if A is on.

I think it has got to do with conditions, I can't seem to figure out the function and the video tutorial is not helping.

Thank You.

I found a solution however not sure it is the best route. I added a third panel on B, so when I turn on A, B will switched to the third panel within itself that is link to the page I wanted it to go to and not just revert to turning on as a button. I guess I would have to Add an additional panel in A as well, vice versa

Ok.

Hi,

I find it easier to use variables to record states:

VarA, VarB (onPageLoad set them to 0)

Events on Button A:

when (VarB=1) take me to next page

else

VarA=1

Events on Button B:

when (VarA=1) take me to next page

else

VarB=1

you can also set another button visible or setDynamicPanel in the else to simulate the on/off states.

Best regards,

Marc

Thank your for you reply. I don't understand it.

Can we start again. lets just work with two dynamic panel A B, these are separate. there are no events. I'm gonna do what you said up there.

Two ways to set up a Variable, one located top right. Green Plus sign and the other through the Add Event. I created a variable through the top right of the screen. I type VarA, and value 0. Same thing for B. it Automatically sets on OnPageLoad

then I drag the Dynamic Panel A and B into the corresponding variables i just created; this in turn create an event.

I then click on add condition for dynamic Panel A. I drag Dynamic Panel B into "When" ( Dynamic B.....) then I drag an equal sign to it and punch in the number 1; looks like this "When (B=1)"

I then click on else, set active panel and link it to the page

I do the same thing for the other Dynamic panel.

I thank you in advance.

"I then click on add condition for dynamic Panel A. I drag Dynamic Panel B into "When" ( Dynamic B.....) then I drag an equal sign to it and punch in the number 1; looks like this "When (B=1)" " Instead of doing this you have to drag the variable. It should look "When (VarB=1)"

If this doesn't solve your problem I will try to explain in a different way.

Best regards,

Ok thanks for everything. Don't worry about my previous comments, I've edited it and I apologize if you've read them. Let's move onto a different issue.

Re: Log in

I've done every on this video.

It works perfect!

What I need is:

If the user enter the right ID, right Password and click on the right picture then you're able to log in

I have added the image onto the data masters.

I have added and additional ampersand & and an = sign to the condition, I'm dragging the Attribute from the Data Masters however not sure what should go into the second box as an input. Will that even work?

thanks.
