After entering value in an entry screen how do I show data in Report which will be available after leaving page?

I am using variables to show data, is that reason I can't view afterwards? Is there any other way of store data in data masters from entry screen? So, when I enter data in my entry screen passing value through variables it will update my data masters. Can we do that?

Can we comment screen wise?

I couldn't find data type numeric to select when entry in a text field?

Length cannot be mentioned as well?

Do you have any solutions of it.

Hi Khan,

This tutorial will help you with the variables: http://justinmind.com/prototyper/lear...

You can also use data masters. Here is a tutorial that teaches how to add information to data masters.

You can add comments to a screen by right clicking on it in the screens panel and clicking on "New Comment"

Numeric data type doesn't exist but you can use the Text type and prototyper will use it as numbers if you use numbers and the number operations.

What do you mean by length? There is a function that counts the length of a text: "Count" in the "Text" tab

Hello Mac,

I had gone through that tutorial already. But when I close my simulation data doesn't exist in in table. So I have to re enter data. I want to do entry from entry page same as tutorial but it has to update Data Masters, so that we can re use that data.

From data masters only static data we can enter then we can view it in data grid. But what we are looking for is dynamic data in data masters. Is it possible?

We want to add business description page and field wise, for all screen for our documentation purpose. You have a facility to comment on field or button wise but we need page related comment as well.

Numeric data need to declare at some stages at entry pages. I know user can type numbers with text type, but we had some validation that user cannot type text but numbers or fraction of numbers.

Length stands for Maximum character length of any text or number user can enter.

Khan,

The data introduced during simulation is only seen during that simulation (even if you modify data masters). When you close the simulation and start over the data won't be saved.

You can add comments to a screen by right clicking on it in the screens panel and clicking on "New Comment"

There is a regular expression that is number so after each time the user presses a key, if the input isn't a number, erase the last element of a string (discussed in this thread: https://www.justinmind.com/community...)

The same applies when the lengh of the input is too long(with the count function). You have to use the same idea; erase the last element of a string.

Hello Marc,

Thanks for your response.

Is there any way data can be saved at this stage, so that can be viewed later on without re entering data or using statical data? This is very important for us......

I believe screen comment problem is solved now... :)

I went to your thread that you sent me; but unfortunately I couldn't understand. Do you have any video tutorial of that kind of issues. If you do, can you send me the link please?

Hi Khan,

Unfortunately persistent data can only be introduced from prototyper.

To simulate this what you could try is to introduce the data that the user wants to save in the prototype manually between simulations. Or never close the simulation; like this the data won't be erased because data is persistent during the same simulation.

To build the input you are describing create the event you can see in the images.

I hope this helps you in your prototype.
